| As part of its 2011-12 programming, Québec City artist-run centre l’OEil de Poisson is offering an artist the chance to present his or her work in its main gallery following an in-house research and production residency. The residency will take place over a three-month period in the centre’s workshops. DEADLINE : February 1st, 2011 The residency is designed for artists who require the use of our wood and/or metal shops for the entire three-month period in order to realize an installation or sculptural or multidisciplinary work that incorporates materials and techniques that can only be handled in the shops. The artist chosen for the residency will be provided with accommodations and a per diem for the entire period, which extends from October 25, 2011 to January 17, 2012. The artist will be housed in one of the units of Méduse, a cooperative of centres working in visual, media and multidisciplinary arts. The exhibition that follows the three-month residency will be part of l’OEil de Poisson’s programming for its main gallery. The dates are from January 14, to February 13, 2012. While developing the project, the artist will have access to all the equipment contained in the wood and metal shops, vast common spaces where many artists from the Québec City region work under the guidance of professional technicians. CONDITIONS : Per diem : 750$ per month (total of 2250$) Production : 500$ Travel : 250$ Exhibition fee : 1600$ The deadline to submit a portfolio is February 1st, 2010 (postmark bearing witness). The portfolio must contain: - A motivation letter, - A resume (3 pges max.), - An Artist Statement (250 words max.), - A text describing your residency0exhibition project (500 words max.), - A press or media portfolio, - Any other relevant material, - A pre-addressed, pre-paid envelope for return mail, otherwise the submitted items will not be returned, - Visual documentation on a CD or DVD support. Please limit the number of projects presented and ensure that the images appear from the outset. Please equally ensure that the documents are light (maximum 1024 X 768 pixels at 72dpi) or video excerpts (.mov) or on a DVD, according to the type of project.
